Ever wondered how long the longest known engagement was in history? Ever wondered how much the most expensive wedding was? Well here's some wedding trivia records you probably didn't know, along with some you probably never realized were a 'thing'.
#12. The heaviest cake on record?
Answer: 15,032 pounds! In 2004, Connecticut had the honor or the largest cake on record. Baked at the Mohegan Sun Hotel and Casino, this was part of the showcase of New England for that year. As a fun bonus trivia, Queen Victoria's wedding cake was once the record holder for the longest time, clocking in at a massive 300 pounds! The put that in perspective, a standard 2 tier wedding cake starts at 6. It was roughly 8 feet tall and 9 feet around. Hungry, anyone?

#9. The Largest Wedding Destination in the World?
Answer: Instanbul, Turkey with 166,000 weddings per year, taking the crown for the most weddings of anywhere in the world per year at an average 455 weddings a day.
#8. The LONGEST marriage on record?
Answer: Zelmyra and Herbert Fisher broke the Guinness world record for the longest marriage. They were married on May 13, 1924. In 2008 they earned the longest marriage at 84 years. Both passed away in 2011 and 2013 at 105 years old.
#7. The SHORTEST marriage on record?
Answer: Zsa Zsa Gabor and Felipe de Alba, which lasted less than 24 hours. It feels a little cliché that it's a celebrity wedding, but what can you do?
#6. The Most expensive wedding dress
Answer: $12.2 million dollars! The dress was designed by Martin Katz and Renee Strauss and had 150 carats of diamonds. That's a lot of bling!

#5. The Most Popular Month in which to get married?
Answer: June. According to inspiredbride.net, roughly 10.8% of weddings happen in June (followed closely by August and May, both around 10%). Word is that the Goddess Juno rules marriage and childbirth. While that sounds pretty mystical, we venture a guess that it's probably because the weather is usually better.
#4. The most popular day of the week to get married?
Answer: Saturday-- no real surprises here. Although funny enough, it was once thought to be an 'unlucky' day according to English folklore. If you were to follow their advice, Wednesday is technically the luckiest day to tie the knot.
#3. The most expensive wedding on record?
Answer: $44 million! The marriage of Sheik Rashid Bin Saeed Al Maktoum's son to Princess Salama in Dubai in May 1981 marks the most expensive wedding on record. With inflation that would put it closer to $156 million today.

#2. Longest Wedding Dress Train on Record?
Answer: 26,559 feet long (and 8 inches). As if tripping over your train wasn't a big enough headache, this piece of lace (made in Caudry, France) took the title of longest train in 2017, stretching an eye-popping 5 miles in length. After it was completed, the lace was then donated.
#1. The Longest Engagement Ever?
Answer: No, it's not Jim and Pam. The honor of longest engagement goes to Octavio Guillen and Adriana Martinez from Mexico. They got engaged when they were 15 (yikes) and didn't get married until they were both 82 years old. That's a grand total of 67 years of engagement. Don't think anyone's going to try to take that honor any time soon.
