While coronavirus has shut down many areas across the country, Zion National Park is up and operating. In order to keep visitors safe, the Zion shuttle system now requires a ticket to get into the canyon before 2pm. So here is the low-down on the shuttle system, how it works, and how you can safely see all the gorgeous Zion sights!
Tickets are required to board the shuttle before 2pm
Advanced tickets are available several weeks before your visit at recreation.gov and must be printed or downloaded onto your device. If you don't get those advanced tickets, more are available the day before your visit.
The best way to get these tickets is to be logged onto your recreation.gov account at 9am MST. Tickets will be gone within minutes, so grabbing them immediately is key! You can reserve up to 8 tickets on one account.
*Pro Tip: Morning shuttle tickets go QUICK! Afternoon times are often easier to get, but they still will be gone within 10 minutes.
If you find yourself in Zion National Park without a ticket, there are other options. You can walk onto the shuttle after 2pm. Lines get very long, so plan to wait.
Walk Into the Canyon
Some Zion visitors choose to walk into the canyon. To get to most of the trails in the main Zion canyon, it is a several mile walk from the main Zion entrance. There aren't walking trails along the main road, so keep this in mind. Another note-- the sun sets early in ZNP, so plan to get out well before sunset, or you will be walking in the dark. Walking into the canyon is absolutely not an option on a wedding day!
Private Shuttle
If you want to ensure a group gets into the canyon for a wedding day, the best way is to book a private shuttle for your group. Here are some great options for private shuttles in Zion National Park:
Private shuttles make stops where you want, so you will be able to make the most of your time and give your family the most enjoyable experience possible.
Whichever option you choose, your wedding day in Zion National Park will be absolutely unforgettable!
