by Sharlee at Unleashed Elopements
When Ashlyn and Joe set up their original photoshoot, we planned for wedding attire to show off the area and make a mock elopement out of their weekend vacation. Little did Ashlyn know she would be surprised with a proposal. And that's when this adorable session got a little 'cheeky'.
These two fell in love just a few months after meeting, but knew they were meant to be together. They both love hiking, road-tripping, and spending quality time together. It was truly amazing to see how happy they made one another and were sincere in their actions to one another.
Ashlyn and Joe started off by "cracking a cold one" and enjoying the view.
A Special Surprise for a Model "Bride"
We then went on to hike around the rocks and had our eye set on this particular area. I then had Ashlyn turn away for a "specific pose" so that Joe could get down on one knee and ask her to marry him.
When she turned around, it was a complete shock! You can really feel that in her facial expression. It was a really sweet moment to witness.
She Said Yes...
We spent the next little bit celebrating for their future and stopping along the way back to the trailhead for more amazing views and photos.
It Gets a Little "Cheeky"
Along the way, they were telling me about how they've created a photo tradition called "Cheeks on Peaks" - where they "moon" nature wherever they are hiking together. I had to ask if they wanted that documented today and they were stoked to do so! Love these cheeky shots!
Dancing in the Lights
Lastly, they winded down their evening by playing their love playlist as they danced around Joe's truck. I loved how they wanted to incorporate getting into the back of the pickup and playing around with the lights. Joe even bought special and new lights for this shoot - it turned out perfect.
Regardless of how you cherish your engagement, having it documented by a professional photographer can really make a difference on remembering those special moments. Incorporating authentic and fun activities into your shoot that really represent who you are a couple can make your images and your emotions pop!
